How to get started

Choose your topic
And in this aspect, you pretty much have free reign! This project will work best if you pick a person or event, but other than that, you may investigate whatever you'd like. Remember that you *are* trying to convince the wolves that humans are worth saving, so the person or event that you pick should be something that you will be able to find a lot of reputable research about. It should also be something that you are interested in, because it will be a lot more fun that way! :) (Plus, this opportunity might not be all that common. Take it while you can!)

Time to get researching!
You want to make sure that all of the information that you give the alien wolves is true, or else they will surely be upset and choose to leave all humans brainwashed and helpless since they are liars anyway. In order to make sure that this doesn't happen, you want to make sure to use credible sources for your research and make sure to cite all of your information correctly. You should start doing research using reputable sites such as EBSCO Host, Google Scholar, and JSTOR. A library website is usually a good place to find tips on resources.
What is a "multi-genre" project anyway? #bb910c
It's cool! You will take all of the information that you discover in your research and get creative with it. After all, all of the great human things in the world won't matter if you present it to the alien wolves in a way that's so boring that they start snoring. Yikes! In a multi-genre, you will take the information you learn and incorporate it into artifacts that come together to tell a story about the topic. Someone who looks at all of your artifacts should have a pretty good understanding of what you were researching. You will create 3 pieces of writing such as stories, poems, and letters to convey your discovered information to the wolves. In case they prefer more visual forms, however, you will also need to create 2 other pieces of the project to tell about something related to your topic. You could write and record a song, make a movie, create a sculpture, draw a picture, or any other kind of non-writing artifact you think would work.
These are all different genres of music. You need to open your mind to think of different genres of writing! Try listening to different kinds of music to get you thinking outside your usual box.
What are some examples of different genres? #081385
Get creating!
Once you have a good amount of trustworthy information on your topic, you should start thinking about what kinds of things you can turn it into for the project. The kinds of things you choose to do should make sense with when the person was alive or the event happened. For example, it wouldn't make much sense to have Napoleon Bonaparte sending an email to his commanders!
The types of genres that you choose to use can strongly affect how the information is understood. If Anne Frank's diary had instead been a short story, would it have had the same effect? The diary format makes everything she went through very personal and helps the reader feel what she felt. On the other hand, a short story might not have made the reader realized that what happened and what was said was true. That could make a world of difference!
For the non-written portions of the project, you don't have to worry as much about continuity. A film can portray any time period as though it were really happening, so don't try to limit yourself with that media or any other kind! Get creative!
For Napoleon Bonaparte (again) you could:
--Make a map of where he had battles --Make a Minecraft version of the house he lived in while he was exiled
--Paint a painting of him as Emperor --Create propaganda posters encouraging people to vote for him
